October 4, 5, 10 to 13, 2013 (3rd edition)
Along with the entire team of the association Les Z’arts de Garonne, I am very happy to present the third edition of this festival, which this year takes place in the fall at the Marmande Exhibition Center, from October 11 to 13.
No fewer than 12 concerts over 2 weekends to keep music and heritage enthusiasts on edge: Marzelles Museum, the church of Fourques-sur-Garonne, and several highlights: the grand Spedidam evening for musicians (3 bands), with headliner guitarist Biréli Lagrène. The closing concert will be a celebration of funk and festivity, featuring Sandra Nkaké’s band, the 2012 Jazz Awards revelation.
Jazz & Garonne is a meeting with the cultural forces of the region and the local community, a place of welcome and fusion, much like the music of jazz, which embodies values of sharing, listening, and conviviality. Jazz & Garonne is a bold challenge to show that it is possible to make this music accessible and beloved by all audiences, without restriction: young and old, enthusiasts, and new spectators in search of discovery.
In a time when we need dreams, travel, and poetry, Jazz & Garonne offers, from the beginning of October, great evenings celebrating all forms of jazz, making it an unmissable event for the cultural season’s kickoff.
